Applying a gender-sensitive lens to monitoring and evaluation is critical for learning and accountability. Without consideration for gender, our data is incomplete. Collecting, analyzing, and using gender data helps us make decisions and take action towards the goal of gender equality in program access and outcomes.

After completing this module, you will be able to:

• Define key terms related to gender-sensitive monitoring and evaluation (or M&E)
• Describe ways to integrate gender-sensitive M&E throughout the project cycle
• Name the steps of basic gender analysis and
• Recognize how gender sensitivity may be integrated into M&E processes in the context of an example program

This module assumes familiarity with introductory monitoring and evaluation (M&E) concepts. If you are new to M&E, it is recommended to first take the Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation course before continuing on with this course.
