This course is for relevant for anyone whose role includes Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), program design, proposal development, or program management, or any staff interested in growing their understanding of M&E. This course is a continuation of the course Introduction to Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and Evidence-Based Programs and builds on the content therein.

After completing this course, you will be able to: 

  • Distinguish between two different types of logic models: Logframes and theories of change
  • Explain key benefits of creating a theory of change
  • Create an effective theory of change with features including SMART building blocks, causal pathways, and outcome-driven design
